157 - Pods Like Us meets The Dial-Up
Sunday Dec 10, 2023
Sunday Dec 10, 2023
Marv chats with Philip, the writer and creator of the timey wimey audio drama The Dial-Up, where a guy working as a call centre operative from home during the Covid lockdown answers a call from someone asking for tech support, which is of course what his job is all about. However, it becomes clear that their caller is ringing from 21 years in the past in 1999.
Marv and Philip talk about the creative process, using initial improvisation and actor's natural rapport with one another to create a coherent and well paced drama, with great gags, that also makes the show easily bingeable.
They also look at other time-travel related media, with a big emphasis on Doctor Who, as well as other audio dramas that they rate.
